Astro Decoder Problem/Astro Decoder Not Working/Astro Decoder rosak
What to do if you astro decoder not working? not functioning, can't turn on, no light, no indicator? It's mean your decoder already kong. it's mean yr decoder power board sudah rosak.
What you need to do? Here are the alternatife:
1. Among the cheapest way is to send your decoder for repair. Where to repair? You can repair it at Astro authorize vendor. Where's the vendor located? If you are in Penang, the vendor shop name is Aras Aked Sdn Bhd located at no 88, 3rd floor, Seri Wonder Complex, Lorong Perak, Penang. How to go there? If you from Bayan Lepas, just use Jelutong Express way (some call it Coastal Highway), then follow Jalan Sungai Pinang, further up untill you see Jalan Jelutong junction (you will notice Chevrolet Service Center this junction) & you turn left masuk Jalan Jelutong. Further up you will see traffic light & turn right to go to Lorong Perak (do not mistake with Jln Perak). When you reach Seri Wonder Complex, park your car & bring you malfunction decoder to Aras Aked at 3rd floor. If you send in the morning, they will fix yr decoder by afternoon. Their charge is only RM100 to change the board + labour charge. They even can send back yr decoder to yr home address. Aras Aked contact number is 04-2834733.
2. If your are not from Penang, pls call this hotline number 1-300-82-3838, select 'untuk lain-lain pertanyaan' and ask the Astro Rep on the astro vendor nearest location.
3. Another option is to terminate your old Astro subscription & register a new one. Then you will get a new free decoder & you need to sign 2 years contract with Astro. But now Astro is very smart, if you want a free decoder, you have to sign up an expensive package & sign 2 years contract with them. If your current package is RM37.95 then a free decoder is not worth it since you need to sign up for a mininum RM75.95 for 2 years. RM75.95 - RM37.95= different by RM38. So rm38 x 24 month = RM912. You need to spend RM912 until you can change to back to RM37.95 package.
